i had it underneath before and it was hitting nowere near the right temps even without a stat

Hi, I am using the same faunariums as you and have the heat mats underneath all of mine. Mine hit very high temps without a stat and hit the correct temps with a stat. What size and watt is your heat mat?

i brought a new heat cause the one i was useing was useless im useing a corn snake mat now its just under half the size of the viv

may i ask what diffance it would make if the heat mat was inside or outside the tub? as either way it could melt the plastic if that was the problem.
