Try doing a search on www.saynoto0870.com to get a geographical UK number. Alternatively phone up billing and ask to speak to a supervisor because strangely enough on the sections where they take your money they always have people whose accents are crystal clear.

Never bothered with Sky, seems way too much money. Am with Virgin at the mo but I'm not too impressed. Have had to change my phone number twice now cos they re-use old numbers from previous customers and I get all their cold callers.

PMSL! haha!

my mate "indian george" (not the most inventive name i know) lived in england while he studied. he got a call from a call centre trying to sell him a phone contract and it turned out to be his cousin lol! you couldnt write it!

Maybe we had some luck with virgin then...i havent rang em since...on account of not havin a phone...cuz i cant ring em...kind of a vicious circle!

I think Virgin are absolutely superb.
It's amazing what you can get out of them if you have problems.

I have lost count of how many times I've had refunds, discounts, increased package sizes at no extra cost and so on.
Putting the shovel through the cable 'accidently' once resulted in 3 months free internet/tv and a refund of the previous 2 months.

As for the phone, ours is provided by the gpo so wont be getting changed anytime soon, better the devil you know.
