hi there i have a lot of experise on royals , but in jan 2010 i got my daughter a baby corn as a late birthday gift , she has been grate with "kingworm" he was the size of a pen and just as slim. he was fed every 5/6 days on pinkys from 1 too 2 then 3 till after 3 sheds then we moved up a size and gave him i fuzz twice a week , he has always been so friendly and calm . 2 months ago he was getting too big for his rub so we moved him into a 2and a half ft viv but we put his rub in there with no lid for 2 weeks so he wouldnt stress he didnt and we moved his feeds to every 10 days after the 2 weeks we took his rub out and he was find ,how ever every time we open the viv doors he rattles and dives at any thing u put in the viv food or water or ur hand , i was brave and thought no way mate your only a baby he is about 2ft now and the width of a mans thumb , i picked him up he struck and bite and coiled on my hand i nearly had heart failure . we have put his food back to every 6 days and he is on 2 fuzzies he is happy in his viv well i think he is as he has lots to play with etc well hide etc hides , vines , stones bark lots but he likes too sit on thetop of a stone statue in cooler end and then attck his whole tail goes !! wat should i try too get my baby back to been happy agian we have not handled for 5 weeks now except too clean out. too see if it helps as he was handled most days but thats not made any difference, plz help

At a guess I would say the viv is too big? my Charlie is now nearing 2foot and is in a 1ft by half foot faun and he is happy in there. As far as I have picked up in my few short months of having corns is they don't like space. I got that from this site actually as I brought him a 3foot viv... to learn it would be miles too big so had to downsize drasticly. Could you not section off half the viv so he only has use of the half see if that helps? I have 2 corns and intend on building a partition in the 3foot viv whilst they are still small when they outgrown the fauns they are in now.

Just sounds like he isn't comfortable in his new surroundings for the change in his character to perfectly match the change in habitat. Put him back in his familiar tub for a week or so, see if he calms back down, then you'll know for sure.

For the time being, put him bakc in the tub you had him in, leave him for a few weeks and see how he reacts then.
It sounds like he is scared, and fear can cause him to be aggressive, take the open space away and take the fear away.
Its a natural instict, fear of being in the 'open' and available to predators, hence the defensive aggression.
