any snake is best kept solitary, Pits are no different. generally they are lovely snakes, however, when they get huffy, they huff real good, open mouth hissing, striking, musking, the works. Most of the time they bluff, they strike with their mouth closed, but bites are not rare, and they dont tickle either.
Temp wise, they are good at normal temps, 28 degrees is fine, although they prefer much colder temps for hibernation, as low as 5 degrees, i hibernated mine at 10 degrees.
Food wise, large mice, going onto medium rats as they get bigger. they are active snakes, getting to 7ft+ without too much trouble.
They are big ish bodied, large lightly keeled scales, and a big head.
THats about all i can think of off top of my head.
