Hmmm, bought my dad what the guy told me was an Anery, but with the colour of his scales and skin, I'm wondering is he Charcoal? (probably not but I will be happy as hell if I actually rexognized that he is Charcoal too ) Picture of him.

This is the snake I bought my dad as a surprise, pretty sure it's a he from the tail, it's an Anery but possibly Anery Ghost or Anery Charcoal. Not 100% positive. I think his colours are absolutely gorgeous (even better in real life). His belly is really creamy/fresh looking too. He had just shed in these images too. His name is Denver, and I personally estimate he is around 18 weeks old (probably not even close just judging compared to my own) Anyway here he is out for a stroll
*please try to keep near identical threads from the same poster in one, thanks. - Kehhlyr* |

Hmmm I would say not full blown Anery, at that size his whites aren't white enough and his blacks aren't black enough, it might be a ghost as it looks lie someones ghost in colour. |

So Ghost Anery would you say then? I will still be happy if I spotted it wasn't pure Anery to be honest lol. |

Anerys are usually brown when they get older, I would say its anery, but Im not certain, ghosts have paler and more grey colours and charcoal would be very grey I think. But as I said Im not certain. Have a look here: http://iansvivarium.com/morphguide/anerya/ I think your snake looks very much like the first picture, but wait until someone more experienced comes along to clarify. Tiffany-x |

Looks like a normal anery to me, looks a bit like one of my little guys now actually :D looks like he starting to gets lots of yellow and that his saddles are turning brown in the pictures and What I have seen of Charcoals, they are more of a "clean" looking anery. From teh Ghost's I've seen here they look a bit peachy in colour. |
A very special super, duper thanks for K :3 |

I would also say he was a regular anery. My ghost and other ghosts i have seen are nowhere near that dark. Certainly not a charcoal.
And Taken from your other thread, there isn't a real way to tell how old he is unless you know the breeder and he can tell you the hatch date. All corns grow at different rates. He also has a fair amount of yellow down his sides so i would say he may well be a little older than that. Just to give you an idea of how much they can vary in growth rate, i have an Amel that hatched late december/early january and is still very tiny. About 18 inches long and weighs around 30 grams.
Also tail length isn't a very good indicator for sex, the only way to truly know would be to pop or probe and this isn't something you would be able to do yourself. |

This is Keith also an Anery aged 14 weeks but looks very different to Denver. Not very clear pictures but difficult to take a pic when trying to hold snakey as well

I thought that Anery's are very black and white as a hatchling, they do get more brown as they get older and larger but by the size of Denver's head in the original thread he looked really little. The yellow is an anery trait but I've never seen a brown hatchling anery. Now that the other thread with more pictures and a better idea of his size is linked in here then its most likely an Anery getting adult colouration. (Though if he was a hatchie I still think he looks like a ghost). |
