i know this is going to sound stupid and that but which sort of moped is the best (btw i mean like peugeot, honda, viper, ninja, etc..)
just trying to decide on which type is worth actually saving up for because i have already save £120 which is surprising seen as i normally spend all my money on useless junk  haha sorry for bickering onlol {:)] xx

SOME peugeot 'peds are good, but steer away from any speedfights or similar 'boy-racer' style peds, especially if they're anywhere near the 10k mile mark. Also keep away from cheap chinese copies of ANY 'ped, Jinlun, keeway, freshwind and the likes. They are cheap and the quality reflects that.
The Peugeot Ludix is a decent little ped. The honda SKy is a cracking little ped if you can get one. I personally would go the Honda direction, but I'm a honda lover myself (own 2 of them).
Keep an eye out for any biddies that are getting rid of their little bikes, they've always been looked after REALLY well.
The other option is to get something other than what is listed as a moped, and go for something like a C90 or similar. They may have the nickname of Chicken Chaser, but they were built for the chinese market originally and are solid little bikes, even when not very well looked after they will still battle on. To give an example when mine was on it's last legs we ran every possible flammable liquid through it to see if it'd run, everything worked, some better than others. It was only when it got hammered around the thrust test and fire zone for about an hour with av-gas in the fuel tank did it finally melt.
I have a piccy somewhere of my little beasty that's been undergoing restoration, shall post when I find it.

Found it.
Wheels are on their way to powdercoaters tomoz, and whitewall tyres have been ordered.
She's a tiny little thing, fit happily (just) in the back of our little ford KA.
Get something like that, not likely you'll be able to find that model, but there's quite often other ones about as well.
The other little one I have is a Honda Gorilla, was a brilliant little bike as well the last time I rode it.

iv got a peugeot sum up 125 that im wanting to sell - i bought it for £1,800 last september and i stopped using it in february - its not even done 2000miles although im wanting a lot more than £120 for it

Fizzys are the best.
One of my first bikes was a fizzy, although you may well need to add another zero onto what you already have to get close to buying a decent fizzy now. |

| are hondas cheap to buy then because i'm hoping that i can get a decent enough moped for around £450-£600 if its possible. that picture of that bike looks quite a cool little bike lol bet its fun to ride btw do you know any cheap websites as well for the riding gear as well because my mum says that she will buy the gear for me if it cheap but good at the sametime lol sorry for the late reply as well haha xx |

I get my stuff from a local shop, when I need it.
The reason I do this is because it's easier to try on different helmets/jackets/gloves before buying as well.
With trousers, I just have a pair of waterproofs that I wear over hard-wearing trousers. My shoes are toughened plastic toed ones.
Just make sure that you wear the gear in the summer as well as winter, there's a difference between having an ache on your body due to road impact compared to losing loads of skin due to useless protective clothing.
You can get little hondas quite cheaply (depending on your point of view) usually in your local paper etc. Some do seem extortionately high, but it depends on what sort of thing you go for.
My little red one in the picture above has an insurance agreed value of £2500, yet is 36 years old. My other little bike is guesstimated at around £400 mark, yet is 5 years old and has only done a quarter of the mileage.
Keep an eye out and make sure friends/family know you're looking for a decent little run around, then hope mates rates also apply. |

That's a matter of opinon on the helmets as well.
I've just bought another couple, one was 45 quid the other 139. So long as it's kitemarked and fits properly then very few are poor quality, it become a matter of colour/style that you want.
They'll all protect your swede if you have a competition with the tarmac at 30mph, so it's style only.
Piccy here with me and my most recent 'fun' skid-lid.
/edited to add:
I picked a brighter colour jacket than most because when i'm riding my head is never more than 3ft off the ground, and because both my bikes don't have indicators I prefered something to give idiots bmw/mercedes drivers more notice.
