Really good pictures, knowing my look if i went on safari i'd get the day when everything was hiding.
About halfway down there is a picture with some buildings in it, do you know what they are?

Yeah that was the hotel! Rooms on stilts so the animals walk right under you! If you look to the left you will see a herd of elephants!

Those are fantastic pics, you must have been so lucky. The hyppo ones are a particular favourite.
Thank you for sharing :)

Some great photos there mate, love the ones of the elephants especially. There is something so gentle but terrifying about them.

Truly jealous of your opportunity. Thanks for sharing .

I like the pic of the mwanza rock agama. They're on my 'want' list.
Shop up the road has them as well, SO tempting.

Truly amazing pics Jamie, thanks so much for sharing them. Used to live in South Africa so have gone on safari there and my OH went to the Serengeti 5yrs ago....so I know a bit about safari photos and you got some fantastic shots .

I actually love the first one with the zebras at the watering hole, with their rippled reflections and the zebra on lookout duty.

I definitely agree with Lucifer about the elephants (have missed you Lucifer! Great to see you posting again!). They are such magnificent beasts, so large and gentle, but also terrifying....have been charged by one so can definitely say they are scary . But also saw them mourning a dead family member, a scene I will never forget....filled with emotion .

Great pic of the 'Judge of the veld', the buffalo....they are actually the most dangerous animal when you are out on safari.

Amazing hotel, have never seen anything quite like it. Where was it?

And WHAT is that THING in the pic after the hotel pic

Love the impalas....my daughter called them 'half-in-the-baths' because it looked to her as though the bottom half of them was clean and the top half dirty ....she was only 6yrs old at the time!

Beautiful pic of a male Von der Decken's Hornbill....they truly are stunning with their contrasting white, black and red.

Cant quite get over the colour of your warthog !! Was it just the light or was it really that colour?

I am surprised Kehhlyr didnt comment on the pic following the warthog !! But he was probably distracted by the pic of the agama lizard....I am not surprised he wants one, its stunning.

As the others have said, amazing pic of the hippo showing off his teeth ! When a hippo comes out to graze never get between it and the river....you just have to look at its size and those teeth to understand why !

Sorry, went on for too long (as usual )....but where Africa and its animals are concerned I cant help it!

xxx

THANK YOU ALL! Now to try and answer some of the questions! LOL

Yeah the elephant are amazing and actually saw 67 in one herd come to the water to drink by our hotel (Salt Lick)! The babies are so cute and still learning to use their trunks! LOL

The Zebras are cool too as kellog said there is always one thats on the look out for predators while the others drink! And dont blame them as if you look in the first lion pic you can see the zebra she is eating!

The thing in the pic after is a sea urchin! One of the guys on the beach took us in the shallows finding them! They are stunning! Even got to hold them along with loads of other stuff!

And yeah the warthog are that colour but only because the earth was so red and they like to roll in it! Loads of the animals had a red tint to then from the dust which made them a bit harder to see! lol

The hippos are so cute but after seeing the size of them and that mouth i wouldnt like to get to close! LOL, Think they are like 3 ton in weight and can run about 30mph!

But yeah i recommend it to everyone! Defo if you like animals and reps which probably most of you do!

If i have missed anything or got more questions just ask!

Cheers Jamie

Awesome photos! Am so jealous! I'm saving up the money to go to South Africa in a couple of years (got to save up for Egypt next year first though!). A safari is number one priority on the trip.

Lol,that was an I don't know where to look pic!!

Think I'd show myself up if I went there. Its really embarrassing, but I can't watch a documentary on elephants without crying!! When I found out Echo the elephant had passed away I was a wreck.
Dread to think what I'd be like if I saw them for real!
