Hi all, just thought that I would post up the link to my live snake cam.
I still have to place the camera inside the viv. It is currently clamped to the edge of the viv cupboard outside the viv.
This is Sid's warm end hide, so if she isn't visible she's either right at the back of her hide or has wandered off to her cold end hide.
Please let me know if you have any problems viewing it as it is currently only in the experimental stage.

| Great stuff, he's not about at the moment but I love the idea! I thought about doing this a while back with an infra red PTZ camera so that I could move the camera about and even see in the dark! Couldn't find any cheaply though :( What webcam do you use? |

Wow, that was lucky, and awesome! clicked the link to see him looking aroundm head out of his hide, eyes glowing in the dark - then he came out for an explore! That's great :D

Once you've had it up an running for a short while, can you give me an idea of the bandwidth you use.
I've been running live webcams inside some of my vivs for a loooong time, and as you're fractional second jpeg update I just wondered whether a live video stream might still consume less bandwidth.
I know that when I tried rapid image updates it chewed up more of my bandwidth than a video stream, purely because it was updating 24/7 so was always eating into it, whereas the video stream only used bandwidth when someone was watching it. |

She's not out just now, great idea though, what kind of cam do you use and how do you set it up for live broadcasting.
Be interested in doing something like this myself.
Wouldn't mind trying several cameras too, maybe one in each corner so you never miss her. |
