i have been feeding our corn noodles on two pinkies for the last few months once a week, the other week we tried him on a fuzzy and he seemed to take a while to get it in an didnt think he was goin to manage it but eventually did. thought it would be best to go back to the pinkies for a while. problem is after eating 2 in quite quick succession he's striking for your hand when putting him back in the viv as though hes still hungry. his last shed measured 24 inches. think he's probs bout 10 months old not to sure.

Don't worry about him still striking, snakes are greedy little things! They'll stay in 'attack mode' for a while after eating. Weights are measurements aren't set in stone so it's up to you about whether its time to move onto the next mouse size.

How long did it take him to eat the fuzzy? If its over 5-10 minutes then its prob a bit too big but you could always go onto 3 pinkies if you think he can handle it 2 doesn't seem enough.

My Ripley is the same size and age - 24.5inches and 60g and around 10mnths. He's currently on two fuzzies/fluffs every 7 days. He doesn't take that long on them now, but for the first little time, he did struggle with the legs. Now he's mastered the mid-swallow shuffle, and gulps them within about two minutes each XD I think you'd be quite safe to move him on up, if you feel comfortable doing so!

When Noodles eats the 2 pinkies is there a bump visible? If there is then he is probably all right to stay on that for a bit longer....it is better to bring them on slowly than try and rush them up to a bigger size before they are ready.

If there is no bump then he is ready for a fuzzy, as long as the fuzzy's girth is no bigger than 1.5 times the girth of Noodle's at his widest part.

When you do move them up it does take them a while to get used to the change....so it will take him longer to eat a fuzzy than it does him to gobble 2 pinkies! But with each time he eats a fuzzy his body will adapt and he will eat them faster and faster. I know it took Kellog quite a while to eat his first jumbo mouse....nearly 10mins, but it wasnt anything to worry about.

I dont think it is such a good idea to feed him 3 pinkies, instead of 2, as then it means a lot of bone he is digesting. If he needs as much as 3 pinkies then he is probably ready to move up to fuzzies.

He may have been striking at your hand when you put him back in the viv after feeding him, but remember that snakes are opportunistic feeders...in the wild they will never know when or where they are getting their next meal and they are the same in captivity, so given the chance they will overfeed and it is up to us to make sure this doesnt happen, no matter how hungry they may look!

Hope this has been of some help with you making up your mind what to do with Noodles....but at the end of the day it is really down to common sense and you knowing Noodles best .
