Hi Folks,
I am very lucky in that I watched Pernod my young Anery shed from start to finish.
The whole thing lasted about 30 mins and was a little bit messy compared to Stellas but it came off in one piece, just a little damaged.
However, the shed skin has a slight tint of colour to it. Like a faint brown.
Is this normal for darker coloured skins?
Stella my Snow corn is always clear.
Also the wood in stellas viv has got a White fluffy looking growth on it! Is this anything to worry about?

Not sure what type of wood it is. It was from a rep shop.
I'm sure I've read about someone having this before?
Thanks

Hi there , The coloured tint on the shedd is normal and comes normally from darker coloured snakes.
The growth of fluff off the wood is mould and is most prob caused from high humidity , but not to worry it won't kill your snake just clean it off and should be fine. |

Thanks for replies.
The mould is only above the heat mat, there is no growth in the cold end so that makes sense.
Thank you. |

Not sure about the fluff, but I know when my normal sheds you can see her pattern still on the shed, including the black marks on her belly. |

the darker pattern is the melanin pigment in the snake's skin
as for the fluffy white stuff, if it's mould then a proper clean with reptile-safe disinfectant should do the trick |

Thanks for the replies.
The fluff does look a little like in your photo staple yes.
I have cleaned with rep disinfectant so will see what happens.
