Sorry Nova, cannot help. I only ever tried onything like this on a psx, all I had to do was make sure the swap disc was PAL.
After that I decided that having the console chipped was easier.

i wouldnt dare get my ps2 chipped i know there cheap enough but i couldnt live without it atm lol
