I went to the Wasatch Reptile Expo today and came home with a gorgeous pair of Crested Geckos. I have been wanting a pair of these guys for a while now, and since they were set at a price that I could not turn down, I went ahead and got them. They're now chilling in their new home, so it is going to be a very long two weeks before I can start to handle them. :D

They are huge eyes and they are VERY tiny. lol. They're actually babies. Kika hatched out last month...Moko the month before that. At least that's what I was told. lol! So they are very young and small and will hopefully grow into those eyes eventually.

Ha ha ha! Now Rachie. Aaron, they are surprisingly easy to take care of. They do not need additional heat if your house stays in the 70F-75F range (they prefer a cooler setting). They will eat crickets and mealworms, but it is not necessary to feed them insects if you get a good quality Crested Gecko Diet. This is a powder that you mix with water into a smooth paste. You can even blend it up with some bananas, peaches or pears. They are so easy that it's almost unbelievable. And they're so adorable.

I know what I'm getting next pay cheque.... commence research!

The biggest problem I have is that a 45cmx45cmx60cm viv is ever so slightly too big for my room and a 30cmx30cmx45cm is ever so slightly too small for a crestie! Anyone know of any alternatives to exo terra vivs that might be inbetween these two?
