eeeeee! I want it to be payday already!!

Got most of the bits for the snakey-to-be in my life, that 101 guide is a cracking shopping list.. his faurnarium, heat mat and hides are all ready i've got the thermostat and 2 thermometers and a nice fake plant thing on the way... but i'm skint now and will have to wait til payday to get him!

Going visit me mum and she has a friend of a friend who breed them, so we're going to go check them out.. if we find the snake for us it'll be amazing but we'll take our time ;)

Gonna keep him in bedroom, we don't have a tv in there or anything that will upset him, when he is bigger and hopefully less frightened n stuff we'll move him in a quiet bit of the livingroom i reckon, but not for some time :)

just spend all my time with my nose in the books or on here looking at everyone else's pix hehe really excited!!! XD

Glad to hear you're doing your shopping and research first

I hope you find a snake that suits you, the corns really are the most amazing little snakes (take THAT boa fans! )

Awww, all the best - my first were an impulse buy really (after over 50 years waiting and a few weeks' thinking) but still I had the sense to do the set up over the weekend first ... couldn't believe it, my own snakes!!

I adore all my pets, but still, snakes ...

That's really good that you've done, and are still doing, lots of research. It can only be good for your snake.
Like BATS I waited over 50 years for my first snake but it didn't take too long before I got my second!!!!!
I'm sure you'll soon find the right one.

Me and Jordan (my son) kept our snakes in the liveing room, I have my Ruby's faun on the shelf right next to me and I also have 2 other sprogs aswell, my house is anything but quite, lol, the only peace the snakes get is when we are all in bed.

my thermometers came...woohoo... i now have everything except food, a spare box for feeding in, and need find a polystyrene tile to pop underneath the faurnarium...might set it up but then it'll drive me mad not having a snakey in there! my boyfriend has offered to put a pipecleaner in there with goggly eyes to keep me happy XD

AWWWW! How can you WAIT???

Yeah, I know what you mean about names - I chose ones that could apply to boys or girls apart from Saffron and Shahi - knew what gender they were when they came.

You don't want a girl called Fred or a boy named Sue!

haha knowing me i probably will, i remember when i was about 12 i was given a hamster called Rosie... one day Rosie had a skin problem and was going bald so we took her the vets. The vet said she was a very well hung boy lol!!!!!

I am literally counting down the days, gonna put the set up together properly this weekend. I got a starter kit from Charlton Reptiles a week or so ago, (could have got it cheaper separetely online thinking about it... but i was excited and they were so nice there i felt like they deserved a sale lol). It has the hard wood chip type substrate in, which might be abit harsh for a baby to burrow in, so gonna bag that up for when he's older and have got some nice softer aspen to put in. Got a couple of little hollowed out half a log style hides but want make a coconut one just for the fun of it... allt his will just make more even more ridiculously excited and when i eventually do get one i'll prob end up bringing a million of them home!!!
