Maybe she just got startled - smelling the cats or a fast movement or something?

she does this because she is a wild animal and not a domesticated pet that can be tamed. she is just letting you know to leave her alone she cant be bothered with anything just now.

She could be going into shed - a couple of times mine have been grumpy, and a day or two later ... blue eyes.

Or, as has been said, she just didn't want to know. They can be like this. One day tame and the next day, 'do I know you?'

I think everyone has this sort of experience with a snake sooner or later - they just aren't predictable.

We still love them though!

Well like gmac said they are wild animals, animals cant tell you if they want to be left alone so they have to give you signs. Just respect those signs and snakey should be happy again soon! :P
