Im having a really bad day, although this happens quite often for me this is to the extreme, I feel like I could completely flip over nothing, and now I have taster work to do for sixth form and I cant do it and I have 4 essays due in tuesday! I literally need to get one done per day and I cant cope! I feel like Im just going to break down, and Im getting stressed out over this work Im supposed to be relaxing and trying to stay calm, I dont think staying at school is working for me already. I just want to cry. :'( :'( :'(

Welcome to my world, I hate being ill!

You're back already?! I don't go back to college until the 14th but it is my 3rd year...haha
Is this your 2nd year? what're you studying?
Ask for a extention and explain that youve had 'personal problems' If you had them at the beginning of summer though, I'm afraid the only advice to give you would be to have done them sooner :\
Don't worry and keep calm!

Oh god this is hard, I got it like 3 months ago and this is my first year, we got given work at our induction, and I couldnt possibly have chosen a much harder subject combination. Im doing Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology. Im quite the nerd but seeing as I went and messed up my GCSE's I guess the next 2 years are gonna be hell hard.

I was actually told to take a gap year and go to college next year but I just want to get the next 2 years over with, I understand A levels are supposed to be really hard and with my current situation Im supposed to be relaxing, I think as of today I understand exactly why. Ive started with psychology and Im flying through its like half done already but this is the one I understood best. I hated school, what made me want to stay?

Hi, Tiffany, sorry you're having such a lousy day.

Rachiepotatoe's advice is good, about asking for an extension. Do your tutors know you're struggling, because if not, wait till you're feeling a little calmer, and discuss this with them; it's something they need to know. Are you getting any other support? (I know the 'support' thing can be a ticklish subject.)

The feeling of being in danger of flipping at the slightest thing is horrible. The quickest advice I can try to give you in a short post like this is: make a short term plan. Think: I'll make a cup of coffee (or whatever you enjoy drinking or snacking on) and do half an hour's reading/making notes/writing. Then I'll have a break and do something I like to do.

You may surprise yourself and find yourself going on working, or you may not manage the half hour. If you do, it's not the end of the world. Try again later.

As I say, a short post like this is really inadequate in the face of what you are going through. I do hope you feel a bit calmer by this time, but if not, keep on posting, and in fact, if you like, feel free to pm me - if there's any difficulty, I can give you my email address on this forum. (You may have gathered I know what it's like to be in this situation!)

All the best.

Thanks BATS, yeah I have some support, Im really grateful for all of your replies to all of my comments on this website, your a really nice person. :) Im a little more calm now I know I just need to take it easy and take my time and its my own fault for putting it off, but I cant control myself once I get stressed. I just flip. Lol. As I said before Im getting there and I know I can do it I just have to give it my all. Once again thank you. :)

Okay you're doing 4 a levels? Your school seems tough giving you work on induction...ouch.
I started with 4 A levels but I struggled alot, you might find it helpful to drop your least favourite in a few months. That's what I did and It help me relax so much.
I won't lie, A levels are difficult and I think your choices are hard, but if you plan your time wisely you should manage to stay on top of your work.
Even if you really struggle this year it isn't the end of the world, you can always re-take things or re-enrol for a different course.
(I finished my A levels, and now I'm going back to do a BTEC in Animal Care) so there are always ways to sort things out :)
I hope everything goes well !

Thanks for YOUR comments, that's really nice to hear. There's no need to flip - you probably know it just makes you feel worse in the end. Don't know where you are in the country but if you've got access to a landline with 'anytime' tariff, 'Guideline' (01274 594 594) is really good. Open 12 midday till 9pm. Or as I say you can contact me, and I hope you've got other people you can contact. All the very best.

Glad you feel a little calmer now.
You must explain to your tutors about any problems you are having. They will help you with a time management plan so you have less reason to get stressed.
Even tho' you had this work set some time ago it's so easy to trip up thinking you have plenty of time, then time flies and it all catches up with you! We all have that problem....
That's where time management would help.
Like BATS I don't mind if you want to PM me, we will do all we can for you, short of the essays themselves!!
Good luck
