Cherry is my youngest snake but she is on 2 pinkies per week and Caspoer is on 1, when should i move her up a size of food and should i be trying Casper with a 2nd at feed times?

i have a fuzzy in the freezer (just the one lol i bought 3 and wasted 2 because i'm a silly noob so anyways yeah? how many weeks should they be on 2 pinkies a week before moving up?

You're not a silly noob, or you wouldn't be thinking this through.

Last winter I was asking my local rep shop - 'one of my snakes nuzzles round as if she's looking for another pinkie - is it okay to feed two?' Of course the answer was 'yes.'

I've heard the rule for moving up sizes is in threes - as long as your snake has been on three feeds of the same, then it's ok to move up to extra mouse or larger size (am I right, guys?)

I've had young snakes on three pinkies, and by then they've grown enough to go on to fuzzies, and so on. Another good rule of thumb is to feed a prey item no bigger than one and a half times of your snake's girth.

Of course they all have their peculiarities - my biggest is a baby and prefers smaller items - she has a small mouse and 2 fuzzies at present. The next biggest can happily manage a medium mouse or two small ... They're all that bit different!

This is just from my own experience - another member may have different opinions. All the best!

Generally if it eats the current prey items within a 5 to 10 minute time frame, and its tummy isn't bulging too much after it's been fed, then it could be a good idea to try it on a single, larger sized prey item. If 2 pinkies doesn't leave much of a bulge in its tummy, try a single fuzzy =]

Aw, that's good - it's amazing how they manage to tell us what they want, isn't it?
