depends on how much you feed your snake/how many snakes you have etc. As your snake grows it will require more/bigger food and that depends on growth rate so its impossible to say. Chances are though if you buy a 100 and only have one snake it will probably require bigger food before they run out so you will likely to be chucking some away unless you intend to keep feeding your snake multiple pinkies till they run out which personally i wouldnt.

if its just for the one, then your snake will likely need to move to bigger prey before you have used all the pinkies. |

This is just my opinion, but, even though it's more expensive, I'd prefer to buy the pinkies in small amounts, and preferably from a shop that sells snakes, so the pinkies won't have been hanging about in the freezer for ages. They do deteriorate with time.
During the big freeze I couldn't get to my usual shop and had to go to a nearer one, which doesn't sell snakes ... those pinkies were a trifle ripe ... Even my chief gannet turned her nose up, and I wasted £15, because I'd stocked up in case the weather got worse ... you live and you learn, I suppose ...
All the best with your snake keeping. |

Just as an example, 2 of my babies that are now nearly 8 weeks old, they eat 2 pinkies each, 3 on the odd occasion, they are big enough to go bigger now. So depending on how good a feeder your baby is, 8 weeks worth would be enough. |

Great idea on using stocking up as an excuse to browse all the snakes! I better find a good local shop! I have a pet shop down the road but they treat all the animals in there like **** and I wouldn't want to give them my money. You guys don't even want to hear about the state of the reptiles in there. |
