Put the cat in the bathroom. she might appreciate a bit of extra protein. I don't have many spiders, flies, moths etc in my house cos the cat eats them all

lol saffy usually hunts moths this time of night but shes not leaving kittens at the moment, and kitten would probably be off out the window which i had opened earlier to let steam out from my bath and im too much of a chicken to go in and close it cause its above the sink and way too close to spider xD

Oh my gosh :|

I think a total evacuation of the house might be in order.
Spiders are just plain scary - and that one definitely looks like its got an evil plot going on....

last weekend i had three massive spiders try to run at me within an hour of each other. i was jumpy all night after that haha and i'm not even scared of spiders

did a bit of research and it turns out where in the mating session for house spiders at the moment, thats why they keep running across walls.

I reckon you could have put a saddle and bridle on that and ridden it in the Grand National!

Spider phobia must be horrific. Have to admit I'm more scared of people than I am of spiders - but at least I can keep them out of the house!

I once pointed out a big spider on the cellar floor to a kitten and she was so busy looking up at my pointing finger that she stepped on the spider and killed it ...

A long time ago I was on the phone to a friend and there was a rustling noise and the biggest spider I've ever seen dropped out of the loose ceiling frieze - it was a bit of a Miss Muffet situation. I went on talking, but the spider kept cantering round me in ever-decreasing circles - it was a bit hard to ignore him. So I put the phone down and went to find something to catch him in, watched by my chief Siamese, Jacinth.

She followed me to the back door, horrified. I wasn't putting that beautiful spider Out There, was I?

As fast as I could, I released it behind a plant tub - and as fast as she could, she grabbed it. Mustn't waste that, she said. Bringing it back in the play with, she said. I beat her to the door and closed it. It was a glass door and I could see her sitting there with long black legs waving out of her mouth.

However, it was a happy ending for the spider because she had to spit it out and it ran under the sink garden and that was my last sight of it, though Jacinth and the others stayed guard for ages. (Kept them out of mischief.)

It had balls, did that spider ...

Hi, Meg, good morning! No, I haven't any Siamese now - I bred them in the 80s and then we all had to retire because the cat count got to ten ... They are brilliant cats.

It was definitely one of the biggest spiders I've seen - that particular house was on the edge of farmland and we used to get some whoppers. Once a neighbour saw her cat playing with a small onion ... well, she thought it was an onion until it stuck its legs out!

personaly it vanishing would make me worry more :P I don't mind where they are if i can see them. when they disapear i start worrying as to where they will be next (sorry don't want to make you worry haha).

had one massive 2 1/2 inch (yes i measured it, very sad i know) spider living in my room last year called Gigantia.
The deal was :
kill any other spider the cames in my room, and If i'm in you stay in your corner, and you can live.
If i see you wondering around, you die.

Actually worked, never had any other spiders in my room. And i didn't mind her cuz i knew where she was.

LOL

Yeah, a bit like the joke about, what's worse - one caterpillar in your salad - or half a caterpillar ...?

Sorry Twi - not making you feel any better. But he's probably gone on his honeymoon by now!

Gigantia - love that. Any huge spiders in residence here get called 'Mr Beck' in honour of the famous jazz musician, Big Spider Beck ...
