Cats! About 35 years ago I saw a few of mine crouched in front of the phone table, from behind which came screams I was sure were being made by a giant rat. I investigated - very cautiously, and found - a tiny frog!
At about the same time I was in the kitchen one night, barefoot, and ... scrunch. I trod on something. A very large worm. WTF? At the same time one of my cats asked to go out, then asked to come back in, and ... scrunch! Another large worm underfoot ... ewww. Then cat asked to go out again. This time I followed him, and caught him prising a third large worm out of the paving ...

That's why I hate cats :/ I either make mine fat so they can't catch animals or I soak them with the super soaker if they are looking suspicious or bring me anything dead.
BAT's, I know what you mean, they really do scream frogs! |

Aww Sta~ple, don't soak your cats!
No matter how well fed they are, they will like to hunt - it's their nature!
When I lived in the country I had a 3/4 Siamese named George, who looked exactly like the Beast of Bodmin. He used to go hunting in the fields behind the house, but I had him trained. As he walked along the high garden fence with some hapless beastie clutched in his jaws, I would say: 'George. Is that dead?'
Crunch!
'Now it is,' said George.
I think the worst was when he came in one evening and said, OwwOwwOwwww! Which meant -
George, are you going to be sick?
OwwOwwOwwwwOwOw!

I totally agree with this.
Just put smarties tubes on their legs and make them walk like robots instead. MUCH funnier.
Deny all knowledge when the neighbours ask if you know why their cat has smarties tubes on it's legs though.

Nah, you wouldn't do that, Kehhlyr, bet you're a big softy!
And if anyone did try to do that, I reckon the cat would win!
(You think about getting a cat to do what it doesn't want to and you'll agree!) |

Our male cat Zazoo loves catching birds and mice.
Before now we have got up to birds flapping round the kitchen as hes brought them in but hasn't killed them. The biggest bird he has brought in was a Magpie, how on earth he got it through the cat flap, god only knows.
A few years ago he kept bringing us baby mice, every day we had them in the kitchen or outside the back door till one day he brought us 2 adults, we guessed that they were the parents of the babies.
In contrast, our other cat Jasmine doesn't kill anything. She tends to nick food, the best one was many years ago, she sneaked into next door's kitchen and nicked a brisket joint that was cooling on the worktop, all we heard from the garden was our neighbour shouting at the cat as she legged it down the garden and disappeared over the fence.
Guess what we had for tea (I had cooked pork chops)?
Ruddy cats!!!! |
Best wishes
Catherine xx
