I'd say stick to Aspen, it's cheap and proven to be a favourite for our snakies =]

It's a tree, grows in this country too - in summer the leaves tremble in the slightest breeze, very delicate and graceful, hence the saying - shaking like an aspen.

Nowadays in good cause - probably scared that any minute it's going to be felled and grated up for snake bedding ... awwww!
