Hi all need an opinion here. I fed xena last night and popped her back into her viv and instead of curling up on her heat mat she immediately became very active and started prowling around in her viv. It probably means she was still hungry which is possible as one fuzzy doesnt leave much of a bump anymore. She is too small in size to take on a hopper just yet so do you think its time i stepped it up to two fuzzies? I have been feeding her one fuzz every five days does it sound about right to step it up to two and feed less often say every seven.
Cheers
Steve

And for those of you that dont know already this is the snake that didnt eat for the first seven months of her life which is why she is so small. She has grown massively in length and my rep dealer told me that this is quite often the case with snakes that dont eat from hatchies that they grow in length first then fill out

She's a beautiful snake - I bet you were thrilled when she started feeding.
One of mine started doing this with pinkies - instead of rolling off and going to sleep she would nuzzle round for another mouse. ('Is that it?') So I gave her two, and eventually three, and by then she'd grown so much she was ready for fuzzies (in my ignorance I thought they moved from one pink to one fuzz, and so on, but often they don't.) If this is wrong someone please correct me, but that is my experience.
Xena will have to wait until her next feeding day,of course, but I would think two fuzzies would be fine. |

Wasnt so much nuzzling for more but more like ultra active she was even climbing up her tree looked like she was properly on the hunt for more. Thanks for you comments tho bats she is a beautiful snake. To be fair she was eating before she got here as she had been force fed by the previous owner but i think having her own viv (she was previously in an rub with two other larger corns) has made the difference as more or less from the minute she got here she turned into an eating machine. I got her in january and since then she has grown 15" in length I just need her to fill out a bit more now. Maybe I will try a double fuzzy on the next feed see if that satisfys her. |

Go for it mate, if she can take 2, give 2, I would stick to 7 day period though. One of my babies had 3 pinkies the other day, am sure your can cope with 2 fuzzies. |
