If i changed Tango's diet of a large mouse per week to 1 or 2 chicks per week, could this make him ill cuz of switching the food or would it be okayy to do this? :) xx

i wouldnt change to chicks, there is not enough goodness for your snakes in them. Mice are fine and see no need for changing over.

Why would you want to change? rat snakes eat rodents.

If he's getting chubby just reduce the size of his prey item, don't change to chicks because they don't hold the same nutritional value.

corn snakes are also known as red rat snakes,

I would just increase the period between feeds if she is looking chunky, what age is she and what weight is she?

There is a very good reason that chicks are very cheap, its because they have very little nutritional value, because they are young and have only ever fed on yolk. There have been occasions when the snake refuses to go back to rodents.
If it means anything to you, i will never use chicks, and most of the people who i know, will never use chicks.
You may save yourself a few pennies, but thats at a cost of the health of your snake.

Yeah, im with Mike on this one, from all the things i've heard, chicks in comparison to mice are nowhere near as neutritional and can after eating chicks it can be hard to get the snake back on to mice. Probably best to just miss the chicks out and feed a little less often if you think he's getting porky.

Its all rat snake, corns are rats.

As above, dont just feed it chicks, it will be fat and malnourished.

Snake poo that is chick fed stinks to high heaven.
Normal snake poo smells like the proverbial rose in comparison
