My spiny/prickly stick insects are dying, the females are okay, but the males are constantly on the floor, cant climb or fly anymore. definitely on their way out. I know they're bugs and I've only had them a while, but I'm really cut up about it How did I manage to get emotionally attached to insects ffs?

Learn something new everyday. I thought stick insects were asexual, so were neither male or female but at the same time were both.
Or is that just some species of stick insect?

Most species can reproduce without males being present, but they do exist as separate genders. The femlaes are usually a lot larger, eg. my spiny/*****ly ones, the female is a full inch thick and nine inches long, the male is a centimeter thick and 6 inches long with functionung wings. Theres a lot of sexual dimorphism
