Hi everyone my name is terry and i just got a corn snake (will be getting a hognose to soon)
thought i would say hi and ask a question at the same time...
i bought a snow corn snake form a local petshop(stingy looking place) and he said it was about 4 month old
i measured him the other night(not very accurate) and he was 22 inches...
what i wanna know is, is that a correct size for a 4 month old corn snake.. or do i have a younger/older snake ?
the guy in the pet shop aint to bright he thinks sand is the best subtrate in the world and said that my snake would be able to eat a full grown mouse.. which is about 3 times as big(the one who showed me atleast) as my snakes widest part
anyway thanks in advance |

Hi ted, snakes age is really difficult to guess as they all grow at different rates.

hey and welcome with the feeding q the general rule is that food should be no bigger than 1.5x the width of the snake at the widest part, so a fully grown mouse thats 3x the size is probably too big, maybe a small mouse or large fuzzy would be better, he looks about the same size as my libs and shes on small mice hes lovely |
