Hi everyone my name is terry and i just got a corn snake (will be getting a hognose to soon)

thought i would say hi and ask a question at the same time...

i bought a snow corn snake form a local petshop(stingy looking place)
and he said it was about 4 month old

i measured him the other night(not very accurate) and he was 22 inches...

what i wanna know is, is that a correct size for a 4 month old corn snake.. or do i have a younger/older snake ?

the guy in the pet shop aint to bright he thinks sand is the best subtrate in the world and said that my snake would be able to eat a full grown mouse.. which is about 3 times as big(the one who showed me atleast) as my snakes widest part

anyway thanks in advance

Hi ted,
snakes age is really difficult to guess as they all grow at different rates.

welcome to the forum

hey and welcome
with the feeding q the general rule is that food should be no bigger than 1.5x the width of the snake at the widest part, so a fully grown mouse thats 3x the size is probably too big, maybe a small mouse or large fuzzy would be better, he looks about the same size as my libs and shes on small mice
hes lovely
