Hi, I'm new here. The reason that I've joined is because I really want a corn snake and need lots of information before I can convince my parents that owning a snake would be the best thing since sliced bread, lol. Their main concern is the size it will grow to and the whole 'frozen mice in the freezer' thing. |

Hi and welcome.
Their adult size shouldnt be a problem, they are small snakes. Take your parents to a reptile shop to see an adult if they havent seen one already. As for the mice, its no differant to having a chicken in the freezer though I know thats not what they want to hear!
You could buy mice on the day you intend to feed the snake, but thats probably not convienient. |

Hi Welcome to the forum. Have a look at the caresheet on the homepage. It's a very good source of information about cornsnakes. Tell your mum that one lady on this forum says that cornsnakes give a better hand massage than any beauty parlour!! They feel so silky and move with such grace and elegance....show her this! I keep my mice in a plastic sandwich box, clearly marked MICE, and it's kept in the small half size drawer at the bottom of the freezer on it's own. Once you've got all the housing needs set up for your snake they are very cheap to keep....much cheaper than a cat or dog and they don't have to be walked twice a day!! They are very easy pets to keep. I'd highly recommend one. I didn't get mine until I was over 50 years old but I wish I'd got one years ago!!!! Good luck, I hope you will be able to have one. |

hi, have a look around at other snakes and choose one you like, there are plenty colour and pattern variations to choose from so you will probably end up with more than one like most of us, theyre addictive. :D |

hello and welcome!! parents are the hardest people to convince!! so get as much info as you can, tell them you are really interested and that you feel a snake would be a great responsibility. as matty said take them to your local reptile shop and MAKE them hold one |

hey, i recently convinced my parents to let me have a corn and the best way is to educate THEM on corn snakes, this video seemed to healp quite alot : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhrwY9eXJTk . also try being more helpful around the house and being positive all the time, that works too! looking forward to seeing you get a snake in the near future |
