Hi peeps,
Just looking on my local rep shops website, and it said they were selling hatchling dice snakes with their corns.. I hadn't ever heard of a dice snake before, I thought it might be a good chance to widen my knowledge on snakies :D
Anybody heard of a dice snake or own one? I couldn't find any care info on the net, and won't get chance to nip into the shop for a while.. So, what's a dice snake like? I looked at pics and think they look amazing, and they don't grow too big.. but I know nothing about them...
Thanks guys :)

i don't know much about their requirements (except that they are semi-aquatic), but I do know they are on the EPS (European Protected Species) list so you will need proof that they are captive bred

Never heard of them before now, but the destribution of them is europe to some asian countries, I doubt they'd need any humidity.

Feeding them fish could be a pain, but like hoggies whose prime food is frogs and such, I'm sure they'd convert to d/f mice.

It looks like it can handle a wide range of temps, from French to Poland to Iraq, so who knows what an adequate temp is that these guys thrive at.

Look.. different..

In defense from predators it will spray a bad smelling secretion from its anal cavity. It will also play dead, referred to as ‘tanatosis’. sounds delightful lol

I can't remember much about them, however, you will struggle to get them onto rodents, their primary food source being fish and amphibians.
The foul smelling secretion is musking, and it does smell pretty foul too, good luck getting it out of your clothes!
Also, due to their diet, they will smell bad, pretty much all the time, don't expect poo like a corn or any other ratsnake either, it will be runny, slimey, and very smelly!
I would recomend a fiberglass viv, doesn't absorb the smellyness.
If you can find the info on them, go for it, but make sure the person/shop you get them from has the relevant paperwork, which would be cities. Without that the animal is not allowed to be sold.

hmm.. I would seem that they are quite different to what I'm used to :s .. I think I'll stick to rodent eaters to be honest! Don't quite fancy the house being stunk out with fish :( but thank you all.
