Sorry if i sound silly but i've noticed people on here talking about fauns and RUB's. What doies this mean? I have my probe and probe sensor just on the hot part near the edge of the mat being held down by a hide. Is that ok? I'm using the microclimate heat mat and it's driving me crazy! Talking about being inaccurate. Can anyone tell me what temp is suitable to leave the thermostat on until i get a pulse one?

A faun is short for a faunarium. Its a plastic tank with a vented lid ideal for keeping baby snakes. Here are some http://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/reptile-supplies/reptile-housing-452/reptile-boxes-576/exo-terra-faunariums-26678.html

A RUB is a Really Useful Box. A plastic storage box that you have to put air holes in with a secure lid. These are a cheaper alternative to getting a vivarium. For example http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/boxdetails.php

Can you tell us a bit more about your set-up. The what you keep your snake in, where the heatmat is etc. 28 degrees is perfect for a corn snake. I have 3 of my snakes mats on habistat on/off stats and they vary between 27.5 and 28.5 degrees occasionally peaking to 29. my pulse stat on my other viv keeps pretty steady between 27.5 and 28. I think 31 is a little high.

Hope that helps

31 is a tad high, The max is normally 30 (not to be picky about 1 degree or anything lol) I think most people aim for 28, this way it can drop to a good temp or get a bit hotter than 28 and it not being an issue. I aim for a high 28 and I have a pulse stat and I normally get temps of like 28.3-28.8. Hot temps are normally good at 27-30c.

I'd aim for 28, if the temp drops too much it isn't going to really effect the snake.

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3
