Hi Paul. It is really good when someone has been able to use us to help with their problems and decides to join us officially. You will have already seen what a great forum this is, with lots of experienced owners happy to give their advice and support. The bonus is that you also get lots of fun and friendship .

Am sorry to hear that Wispa was a problem feeder but hopefully that has now been sorted and she can begin to grow and thrive. You have already shown how lucky she is to have you as an owner in the way you have researched and used us....and the way you have worked so hard to get Wispa eating, when I know a lot of other owners who would have given up.

I am not sure if you have found this yet, but there is a large amount of conflicting information out there about corn keeping – on the internet, in books, etc. Even on here you will find that people have different opinions.....but at least you have a place to ask what you need to know and get the answers from experienced owners. Then you can decide what to do with what you are told.

Unfortunately a lot of us have found that many pet shops cannot be trusted with what they are telling you . I know that I double check anything I am told on here. On this forum no question is regarded as a silly question....it is much better asked and answered, you will probably find others who want the info too! I am sure you have used the search button to good use already, so dont need guiding to it . It really is a great tool as you can type in what you are worried about and see if you can find an answer. I know you can get swamped with different topics including what you are searching for, so it is a bit daunting but worth a look. If you cant find the answer you are looking for then dont hesitate to ask!

I am not sure if you have thought of doing this with Wispa, but I keep my own 'Snake Diaries'....noting things like weight, length, feeding dates and what you feed, shedding dates, health problems, when you do full viv cleans. I know it seems a bit over the top but it is actually really helpful keeping track of your snake's health - I even note when Kellog and Silvesta poo !!

Well done for complying with the unwritten forum rule - pics as soon as possible - without even knowing about it ! Wispa is gorgeous. I know people say that aneries are 'normal' and not one of those special morphs, but I think so many people miss out on beautiful snakes because they become set on a certain type of corn. But then I am biased, you just have to look at my anery, Silvesta !!

A warning - corn snakes are addictive.....and yes, the majority of us have stood up, said "hello my name is ****, I am addicted to corns........! And I am proud of it!" You have just started down that corn path so be warned!!

xxx

Thank you for the great invite,I have got a calender just for Wispa to note when she has eaten, shed, been cleaned etc although had not thought until general nosing about on here the other day about taking her weight and length so will be investing in some scales over the weekend , thank you for suggesting doing this though.

Like you said there is a lot of different information about cornsnakes so will be looking on here and asking if needed for help (most likly will as am a novice with snakes) to aid me in being a better owner

I can see how they are addictive and can see myself in that group standing up already now lol
