every snake i have ever owned has made respirotory noises, blakes had a wheez from his nostrils for the past 2 years and even took him to a vet but no RI was ever diagnosed, i had a big rat snake once with very audioable exhaulation a loud hiss every time he breathed , took him to the vet , yet no diagnosis of an ri. my newest corn snake makes a pop or wheeze sometimes. i think deep down to be totally honest the main serious sign of an RI is bubbling from the mouth, unactive and not eating then thats when you should start to worry. its the same with anything do we go running to the doctors if we sneeze or cough all of a sudden? lol. but from my experience of looking at forum cases i think its the tropical species like the pythons and the boas that have serious cases of RIs as they need definatley more of an exact temperature and humidity range than what corns do |
