can anyone tell me where the probs for digital should go, i.e do they go above the substrate or under it and where do u put the matstat probe, mines on the outside of the faun on the heatmat, while the thermometer probes are inside the faun, 1 under the hide in the hot end but just level with the substrate and the other is under the substrate in the cool end, is this right?

the thermometer probe should be on top of the substrate, directly above the heatmat. if you're stuggling to get the temps up high enough in the warm end then you might need to thin out the substrate (depending on what you're using)
then turn the thermostat up or down according to the reading on the digi thermometer and ignore what the stat dial is saying
