Can a home tell me what this snake is please?

I'm on holiday and there was a reptile demonstration last night and I had my photo with this big boy. They didn't speak a word of English though so I couldn't establish what it was. I thought Burmese but thought the body is too slender compared to its length?

It must of been 12 foot? I'm 6' 2"...

Thanks...

Looks like a Rock Python to me too (African Rock), they're generally well known for being quite feisty and bitey so this one must have been doing some 'Woosa' in a Bad Boys stylie beforehand

Thanks for the replies. I agree it could be a rock Python but it was very docile.

The only thing that made me think it wasn't a Burmese was how slender its body was. I thought Burmese were much thicker.

Thanks

It's quite small though so maybe it's just not filled out yet.

OK, I spoke to my best friend, who runs a reptile rescue and is very knowledgeable (although she claims not to be an expert by an means) and I had a look at her Afrock yesterday. I believe that the pic of the snake you're handling is more likely to be a Rock Python than a Burm, as I understand that Burmese have black borders around their upper body saddles and her Afrock also has the light coloured borders around the saddles like the one you're holding. Apparently, though, they're very close relatives and there isn't too much difference between them; the main difference is their temperament, with Burms being more laid back and placid than the feisty Rocks and Burms being a darker colour. Hope this is of some help, although like my friend, I am defo not an expert ;-)

Thanks Kez. You're not the first to say African rock Python. Showed my mate who runs a reptile shop and he said he would put money on it being Afrock too.

I guess we won't ever know for sure. Thanks again.
