who actually has more than one snake (dosent matter on breed) males, females or mixed living together on a permanent basis.
i ask this cos i want more, and was thinking about co-habitating snakes of the same sex and of oppersite sex.
i know there is pro's and con's on both, and a lot of oppinions but was wondering who has first hand experience.

my 1.1 adult pair Birch and Spruce live together happily, my 1.1 (soon to be 1.2!) juveniles Petal and Peachy live together at the moment with no problems but will be separated soon to prevent breeding at too young an age, then the 2 girls will live together.
some species should definitely NOT be kept together though so it's worth researching further. |

| I was just about to post basically this exact same question! we just found out our lovely little girl peanuts is infact a boy! we are getting a new one a doncaster next month, and like dazb were wondering if we could keep peanuts and a female in the same viv or whether they will just try and breed, peanuts is a very small yearling. Piccies in the piccies section, don't mean to hijack your thread dazb but i figured it's basically the same question, so might have sinilar answers :D |

| I currently have my two atchlings in a large faunarium seperated by the partition. I did this to be on the safe side as I was told when young they may mistake each other for food. Having said that, the first night I had put the lid on the other way around leaving a gap, needless to say they were in together!!!! Maybe I could put them in together after all. Tey are both boys and are approx 10 weeks old |

They can, as long as you don't mind them breeding.

I've got 2 females and 1 male, all living together, they have done for nearly all their lives.
The question about having multiple corns in a viv comes up regularly, i personally wouldn't recommend it for established (older) snakes, but maybe with younger ones, but then you have to make sure that there can be no breeding as a young female would have difficulties.
See the problem there. |

think im gonna wait til chester is about 2 then get him a play mate.
dont mind the breeding side at all aslongas they are both happy.
will introduce her slowly over afew weeks. |

| i have 2 males one 6mths and a 1 yr both in same viv they very happy or seem to be been together a week and always find them curled up in same hide even though there is a choice of 3 and when out for exercise they tend to be drawn to each other not sure if this helps |
