Hi guys,
Recommended from RFUK by Blackecho...
I haves some questions about getting a Corn Snake as a first pet.
I want a hatchling, so I'm not sure what I need to get for it's first vivarium, Can I get a 36" one and just put lots of hidey places down?
If not, would an 18" one be good? Links to specific products would be great :)
Thanks,

For a hatchling you need a small terranium.
They don't like their vivs too big.
I recommend the £4.99 ones from Wilkinsons. |

Thanks :)
I've seen an 18" Melamine one that looks good. |

That's the right sort of size, the only thing being that as it has a wooden base you'd have to put the heatmat inside somehow. Not necessarily an issue, but with glass or plastic you can just sit the viv on the heatmat and the heat will come through. |

My Corn starter setup.
With remote control for size comparison.
From above.
I have a couple of these glass Perfecto vivs. I have covered 3 sides with backing as if it was all glass they might be scared. As you can see, it sits on the heatmat. I have a hide at both the hot and cold end, a water bowl and a branch for climbing. |

Yes, bit expensive in comparison to the cheaper RUB's, but I like them, like I said, I have two that I use for young snakes before they go into larger ones. |

I would have thought that your local reptile shop will have a similar sort of thing. |
