Hey guys, I have heard rumours that there is another reptile show on at the Dome in Doncaster, 27th July and 7th September, although I can't find any information on it anywhere, we would really love to go to a show to find Peani a friend but were wondering if they are any good, alot of you have posted about the last Doncaster show and it sounds really worthwhile. Just wondered if any of you had any opinions on them or where the best are |

hopefully I'll be at Doncaster too, last one was good but lots of stalls and lots of people packed into a small space, it's supposed to be better in September, in a bigger hall

hooray :) you lot are all very efficient at answering posts thanks very much! it'll be our first show so we don't really know what to expect, are they generally good places to buy snakes and do you need to be members or book tickets? sorry about all the questions! :) |

It's worth checking out the train fares though you might be pleasently suprised I go from london to liverpool about once a month for £22 return and Liverpools quite a bit further than Doncaster so you might be in luck |

the last IHS at Doncaster it was £5 to get in (for non-members) there were various stalls selling reps (lots of corns and leos and inverts too), new accessories and vivs as well as second hand stuff. I came away with a CB07 Ghost corn, new 23" heatmat and secondhand viv lock. I'd previously arranged to meet there to buy the snake and went with a shopping list of things I needed and their average price on ebay so I knew if i was getting a good deal or not. |

I think you can get heat pads that generate heat themselves (ie. not plug-in like a mat) and I went prepared with a suitable plastic tub but chances are, if you're buying, you'll get one anyway. might be worth getting some newspaper as substrate/a hide to make the journey as stress-free as possible. |

As long as you have a plastic tub with the air holes, substrate and water you should be fine, Peanuts goes up and down all the time and it doesn't seem to stress her out too much, as long as you resisted temptation and just let them sit still. But that's just my opinion from my experience with peanuts |

you can get heat packs that you shake & the hold heat for 24hours. Asda used to sell them, camping shops or ebay. try & look for poly boxes, usually used for homemade incubaters, aquarium shops have them spare, maybe the butchers too. Make sure it has air holes in though. Obviously what the snimal goes in will depend on its size. Snakes can go in mesh or linen bags secured with tape & a cable tie. |
