Have just got back from taking Wiggle in to my son's nursery school, she was very good and didn't eat any of them.

She was happy to be handled by about 25 4 year olds, they were all amazed by her and I'm sure there are a lot of parents being bugged right now to get a snake :)

Plus my son loved it as he was centre of attention as it was his snake!

I would have loved to take some photos for the out and about comp, but they're kind of funny about you taking photos of children in schools nowadays.

I wouldn't blame them either, I'm scared of my king sometimes. I'm thinking of changing her name to Ripper and putting her picture on my door because she's bad enough to scare burglars away.

My King snake is far more placid than my Corn snake. Not in the least bit grumpy (unlike me)!

Apologies for generalising. Most of the Kings I've come into contact with have been less friendly. Obviously every snake is different.

That is true and Kings are certainly more fiesty than Corns generally speaking, but on the whole I find them great characters and have yet to meet an outwardly aggressive one.

My son's Sophie has been into school - I'm a science teacher, so I took her in to show my class. Actually, it was one of my class who convinced me to get a snake. He keeps garter snakes and geckos. Another teacher in my school has a milk snake who lives in her classroom. He's a bit bigger and more robust than Sophie - about 5 foot and an inch or so thick. Now my tutor group are badgering me to get a class pet. Badgers, hmmmm......
