I held one of the Boa's at work today. He was about 4ft. I couldnt beleive the power! :p I coiled him around my upper arm (so the public can touch him) and the crushing power was immense.

I held a 6 foot long Dumerils Boa the other week, he was fantastic!!!! I'm quite liking bigger snakes now having had the corns for years, went out and swapped the too-fiesty Jap Rat for a baby Royal on Tuesday, feel a little guilty but he's gone to a good home who's a lot braver than I am!

Thats fair enough to swap the jap rat. I wouldnt like to keep an angry snake. I am definatly admiring bigger snakes now!

Been looking at common boa's but i couldn't give them enough space for their adult size. A royal is the closest im going to get.

(took me ages to find this thread!) Was handling a 5'8"ish boa today. Im 5'7" so it was a weird feeling. Would anyone consider owning a 6ft+ snake (apart from sam lol)? It seems people in america keep bigger snakes compared to us Brits.
