| Hi I got a baby snow corn snake for my 14th birthday, I have had her about 3 days and was due a feed, which she took fine, but has since regurgitated it. as this is my first snake i am a little concerned. Is this normal, what should i do ? |

Hi, congrats on the new corn.
There could be a few reasons for the regurgitation.
What method are you using for heating?
Did you handle the snake at all after handling?
What size mouse did you feed her? |

| Thanks for your reply Dan, I have a Habistat heat mat set at 80 degrees on half of the vivarium. No i didnt handle her at all after feeding. It a baby pinky i fed her, sold to us by the shop we bought our snake, so can only persume this is the correct size. I am grateful for your advise. |

Hmmm... Im quite confused.
I hope some one else will be able to help you.
Don't try feeding again for about 10 days as snakes loose a lot of their digestive 'juices' when regurgitating, so she will need time to build these back up.
Oh, one more question, how did you thaw the pinky? |

| I defrosted the pinky in a plastic container for 24 hours at room temperature. Thank you for telling me not to try to feed her again, one of the girls at the shop said to try again straight away, another said to wait, so I was really confused, which is why i thought one of you guys could advise me. |

| hi, im confused too lol but was wondering wether you leaving mice too long? i pop mine in container for approx 2 hours to defrost and have in the past had one in tank over nite and it stunk! maybe its going off too quick pending where you bought it? |

| You can also put the pinky in a cup of warm water for half an hour defrost it ;) Thats what i do, although the two bigger mice i leave for at least an hour. |

| hey guys ive tried today to feed her again but she is not interested just ignored it and kept moving away from it, what should i do?? I'm worried after she regurgitated her last feed. A friend of mine (who has a corn) says they can last up to 1 month without food, so leave her dont worry and she will feed when she wants. Is this right, i'm confused please help. |

| I'm not 100% about this but would it be worth leaving the pinky in the viv overnight maybe, and see if she feeds? It might work...what do you think everyone? |

hi jazzy, best thing to do is always leave a new snake a week to settle in without handling, have you got enough hides for the snake to feel secure can you find out from the shop when it last ate and when it last shed, it could be due one,are the eyes looking a bit blue leon

| Hi Guys, its Jazzys mum here as she is very upset at the moment, unfortunately Rosa Died this morning, vet said it was liver failure and we couldnt have done anything to save her. We would like to thank you all for help and advise. We hope to be picking up another snow corn on Monday but as you can imagine we are very worried. Any advise and support you can give Jazzy at the moment would be a great help. Thanks again Marie x |

That's really sad! Hope Jazzy doesn't feel bad - it's not her fault. Sounds like the shop sold you a poorly snake!
Hope you are not going to the same shop for your new one 
I'd avoid them just in case it was a contagious illness.
Hope it hasn't put Jazzy off owning a snake. They are generally very hardy and Jazzy was doing everything right to care for Rosy.

| Sad news. Hope Jazzy is ok. Seems it was already poorly cos you hadn't had it that long. We're all here for Jazzy for advice and support any time its needed. |

| Hi ya, I have my new beautiful snow corn snake. She is lively and as quick as a bullet and very strong. She is pink so decided to call her Rosa again as i loved the name, and it would be a good memory of the last one. She has fed successfully and so far kept it down. I have followed your advise and have resisted handling her (which as been very hard) for a week. I'm going to get her out on Monday, do you think it would be ok to bath her then or should i wait a while longer ? I will take some photo's of her once she is out and post them to you. Well done, and glad you got yourself another.
Don't feel to bad about the previous experience, because it sounds like you were provided with a poorly one.
Good luck with trying not to handle it for the first week, I personally think thats the hardest thing to do when you get a snake, all you want to do is play.
As to bathing it, I can't answer that one, as all my snakes have always been bathed before by the time I get them, so I wouldn't guess. Kaz, Lewy, or Bluetongue would be able to answer that better.
Can't wait to see pics.
