just w ondered whether anyone has taken out pet insurance and if so, any recommendations. Are vet fees high for reptiles such as corn snakes? |

I wouldn't bother for a corn. The vet near me only charges £14 for a vet consultation and they are quite hardy so you won't have to go that often.
I've 4 corns and never had to take any of them to the vets (touch wood), it's the king and the royal I've had to take a few times |

You know you could always try going to your local reptile keeper - shop, any time i have a query then i go to the guy in my local reptile shop, btw. i use City Reptiles in the centre of Belfast (they're really helpful in there!!!) Hope this was of some use :-) |

I got 30 days free cover from exotic direct but not going to bother after that, my local pet shop and the forum have gave me loads of help and I'm sure they will do in the future. |

Snakes n Adders in Leeds are really helpful and are probably who I'd go to for advice (after asking the residents on here of course!!) Spruce had to go to the vets for a RI quite soon after I bought him (NOT from Snakes n Adders I hasten to add!), he had xrays and antibiotics but the vet reckoned it was a long term neglect thing and that's why he was sold on. Although he went to a specialist rep vet it was cheaper than I thought it would be but I had to travel a fair way to get there. |

If you imagine a triangle of Leeds, York and Selby, I'm in a village in the middle. The nearest rep shops to me are Paws for Thought and SnA in Leeds or Leaping Lizards in York but I've not been there yet. You local then Blackecho? |

Not really, if you imagine a triangle of Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley, I'd be in the middle ;) |
