yes folks, to prove that moderators on here ARE actually human and that things can STILL go wrong.................

i was greeted tonight as i came up the stairs by Hazel, my CB07 female caramel

and as i returned her to the viv she shares with stripey Maple i noticed Maple wasn't there either........... and one of the vents had been popped out

fortunately stripey was located within 20 mins between some boxes under the bed but they couls potentially have been out for 24 hours............ thank dog it's been a lovely day and all the cats were outside!

oh, and the moral of the story is:

if you build your own vivs make sure all fittings are snake-proof and secure!

i've not had many, i'm blaming poor quality viv fitter!he's made me a 2 x 4ft stack, each 4 footer has a temporary divider in making a total of 2 vivs, inhabited by a total of 6 snakes.............. i'm now ever so slightly paranoid.......

I make sure my vents are pushed in from the INSIDE.
Because of the lip on them they then can't be pushed out.

thanks FP, i don't actually know how long they were out for, it could have been minutes or even a day but they were both cold so i'm inclined to think it was for some time.
the girls are never as sociable as the boys - who poke their heads out when you walk in the room. i only see the girls when i check on them on an evening, and physically search through the viv for them!
just need to get this vent fixed in place again, they're still in temporary accomodation...............

It's still quite impressive that they managed to pull the vent INTO the viv.
I reckon they had outside help, do you have snake friendly ghosts???
