just a quick one guys

ive read he instructoins but cant find any info
i have a ministat 100 which turns of when the thermometer reads 84.9 but obviously the temp starts to drop and i was wandering how far it drops before coming back on as at the moment its on 77.8

Normaly I find it changes +/- 4*C. How long have you had it set up? The temps should settle within a few hours.

its probally been goin now for 4 ish hours, and im gettin abit worried cause its now reading 77.4.
surely its not suppossed to drop 10 degrees

only the one corn ....... for now ;-)

Where is the thermometer probe? I guess a pic of the two probes positions may help.

the stat probe is directly on top of the mat the thermometer probe is on top of the aspen in a hide about 1 inch to the left of the stat probe

only the one corn ....... for now ;-)

How thick is the substrate?

on the mat its about half inch the other side of the tank its abit deeper

both probes are in that hide as i say 1 thermo on the aspen and the stat 1 under aspen on the mat

The only thing I can think of is to thin the substrate out a bit more.

I got wood chippin substrate; and the mat is a powerfuller one from my old one which is outside the viv;

I got my stat and thermo probe in the warm hide; which varies between 26-30 degrees. (depending on the weather aswell; viv being in a conservatory and gets about 4 hours of sunlight a day)

the roof also helps deflect the suns rays; its like corregated iron. but plastic.
