hi everyone
i bought a 3 month old snowy today and when i got it home i left it for about 4 hrs in its new tank. then me kids wanted to see it so i got it out i held it for about 45 mins the snake seemed ok with being handled moved around abit then just curled round me fingers for a while then went for another stroll. after that i found this great site and it says to leave them a week have i done something terrible and will my little takoda now be stressed

its ok i think, it isnt going to affect him much, as long as you leave him for the rest of the week to settle in, only going in the tank to change his water each day. And dont feed him either, he will be ok going for a little longer without food |

the mistake is when owners get them home and start handling all the time,like muppet said just give it a full week from now to settle and you could also just go into his viv so it can smell you but no handling. |

wow thats a quick response thank you guys. i will leave him rest of the week. he has been fed on sundays so was due this sunday but shall i leave that feed if so when should i feed him.
sorry about this guys i did do loads of research first but obviously i missed the inportant thing of not handling him to soon.
also i was wandering about my heat mat, the bloke in the shop said its suitable but it hasnt got a thermostat on it, now im worried about just leaving it on all the time, well i suppose i could get a thermometer

the next time should feed him is when his next feed is due, for example if you feed him every sunday, then wait untill next sunday, as a week will have passed, and you can get into a normal routine. My corn is due his first feed today! |

I just made that same mistake myself yesterday. I've had my bum smacked and I'm now leaving him for a week to settle. beter safe than sorry |
