I am about to treat my snake for mites. The only spray I've been able to find is "Beaphar Insect Spray" with an Ivermectin content of 0.02% w/w.

This spray advises it only be used on snakes with a mass greater than 80g, and the problem arises because mine only masses ~14g.

Can I use less spray than the amount reccommended? Should I dilute to lower the concentration? Could I apply the spray to something else (e.g. a cloth) and then apply to the snake? What adverse side effects are there with Ivermectin?

Any advice would be welcomed, I don't really want to simply wait until my snake becomes about 6 times larger.

personally i would avoid it. if your snake was borderline then the likelyhood of causing harm would be very low. sounds like that stuff would be very harmful even in small doses to your snake. try mite off by zoo med: http://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/reptile-supplies/reptile-health-care-430/reptile-vitamins-treatments-579/zoo-med-mite-off-13202.html

Wow thats good! i've seen the bottled (not spray) go for around £7.99 and I thought it was muddy water (It wasn't zoo med) but my feeding tweezers are

You know about completely gutting the viv, binning the aspen, cleaning the furniture thoroughly and using kitchen roll as substrate for about a month, right?

don't use the ivermectin spray a snake that small.
rather than mixing different chemicals around, try a different approach such as regular baths (with a little bit of soap to break the surface tension) to drown the little buggers - not the snake!!
