i've read in a few place's that tap water is no good for snakes and reptiles because of the Chlorine thats in it.
any way after reading this i started useing bottled water from last monday.

im just wondering if any one ells use's bottled water?

thinking about it it must be better for your snake because of the nutrient or mineral content.

later all.

i use straight tap water but leave it to stand for a day or 2 to let the chlorine evaporate.I have read that mineral water can leave a build up of mineral in reptile and is not good for them. Some people use distilled water but i rember blackecho saying that distilled can absorb calcium and other vital nutriants from the body and he works in a lab so knows his stuff.

Woops... From now on, I'll let the water stand for 2 days as well! Don't want Sneaky to get ill. Thanks for the heads up!

I use tap water and I don't stand it for a few days because most tap water is treated with chloramine now instead and this does not evaporate when left to stand.
I was thinking the other day about buying bottled water but I don't know whats best now....
I wonder if the water conditioner I have for my fish would be safe for a snake?
That breaks the chloramine bond and removes chlorine and hard metals.

u no what im still going to go with the bottled water option.
if your snake was in the wild, it would be drinking out of the streems and so on anyway.

if you look on the net you will just get the same response as on here
and end up confused.com lol
every 1 is doing it diff.
but as far as i can see there is alot peeps giving em bottled water.so they carn't be all wrong.

Leaving it to stand for two days kinda defeats the point of changing the water every day for bacteria doesnt it?

What I thought. I've read that bottled water is good for snakies, but not sure about all the minerals etc.

I just use a bottle to transfer water from tap to bowl, knowing me I slosh it everywhere.

My prefered bottle is the squeezy lucozade. Occasionally it does the vapour thing, so adds to the humidity just a little bit. Not every day though, once in a while, also I can aim the water right into the bowl with no sloshing!

Sorry if it sounded dirty, lol.

you have to change it daily when its been it a viv as your snake may have been in it and thats when it gets dirty,if its just been in a bottle nothing can contaminate it.you dont have to stand your water, straight from tap probly wont do any harm its juust my choice.

Crazyness, first I'd ever heard of that anyway. Got a few friends with various reptiles and none have been ill/have ever been asked by a vet do they drink tap water, so I'll stick with tap water lol.

I just use tap water. There are probably a vast amount of bacterium in waterways and rivers where snakes would drink in the wild.

We did a poll awhile back about this and most of us use plain old tap water without any problems.
