me again... i use a red 40w reflector lamp<bulb><caged> from a dimmer stat..i have a stickon therm on the back wall which reads the ambient temp i believe on the heated side, which is readin around 29c... told about getttin a dual digi therm, which is being sorted...Question, the heated side feels warm...temp reads 29c, but will the substrate surface still be warm enuf for the snake or will he get his heat reflected down from the bulb..and if i have to increase the temp via the stat to heat the substrate, wont that increase the ambient temp too much.......boy, theres more to lookin after em than lookin at em and slingin in the odd dead mouse...pheeew |

Once you get the set up sorted its all easy When you get the thermometer, post the surface temperature and if its too low we will give you some ideas. |

Yes, a digital thermometer with the probe on substrate below the lamp would give you a better idea. |
