i fed my young corn today i have to feed in viv as when i take him out hes very nervous and wont feed, anyway i allways feed him in a bowl in the viv and when i came back to check on him i just seen a small peice of aspen going down with the small pinkie, i know this can be fatal so what are my options it happened 5mins ago! |

As fare as im aware there isnt anything you can do, just hope it passes through. Try not to worry though mate, as long as it wasnt too big a peice it should be OK. |

Not alot you can do about it now but keep a close eye on your snake and make sure he passes it ok. If you havent seen any sign of a pooh in a few days a bath could help move things along but aspen should pass through without too much trouble. Just how young/small is the snake? and what size was the bit of aspen?
bark and wood chippings are the real problem subtrates in ingested. You could try putting the pinky on a paper plate or something next time to try and stop it happening again. |

I've got to say, don't worry too much - in the wild snakes don't carry their own feeding dishes around with them so the odd bit of muck and wood shouldn't harm them!
That been said, it's a good idea to make sure your snake doesn't injest lots of substrate for obvious reasons... |

the thing is i have had him from jan and he has never pooed, and looks normal, and feeding ok inside his viv! but when i try to take him out he never calms down to take interest in the pinkie |
