I've had Sneaky for a week now, so I thought I'd handel him today. I was really nervous, but everything went well. He came out of his little cavern and went straight on my hand. I didn't even have to catch him. It felt really strange, but he seemed to enjoy it. :)) He was wrapping himself around my fingers and even tried to sneak under my t-shirt. :)) I let him wander about my hands for about 15 minutes, and then put him back in his tank. Is that ok? It wasn't too long, was it? It was an amazing experience anyway. :)) |

congrats glad it went well for both of you.
smaller snakes cool down more quickly so if the room is cold 15 mins is plenty, and the same goes if it's hot, they overheat fairly quickly too so appreciate being put back in their home to thermoregulate themselves. also when you're first starting to handle your new snake 15 mins is usually enough initially until you're both familiar with each other and feeling happy and confident. |
