Got a new scorpion today.
Desery Hairy - Hadrurus arizonensis

Looks huge in these photos but is actually pretty small.
Here's some pics of the set up being prepared, Its Zoo Med Excavator Clay. Real cool. You just add water, create your burrows etc then leave it to dry. When you get bored of the design you just add water and re-do it
Once dry il be adding sand to cover the gaps.
Il post some more photos once its dried out and ready for the scorp.

And here's the scorp.

Brilliant pics.

Where'd you get the clay stuff from??
Is it good for any other reps? I'm thinking beardies.

I got it from http://livefoodsbypost.co.uk/zoo-med-excavator-clay-substrate225kg-xr-05-2009-p.asp
It says its good for use with reptiles so Id imagine it would be ok.
You would need a lot for a viv though, A whole bag only just covered a faunarium.

Hey Kehhylr.
The clay has dried out nicely and the burrow is holding up real well.
I am really pleased with it.
Here's a photo, I covered it over slightly with sand.

ya, I think thats about right.
This guy is soo cool when feeding. Ive only ever kept an Emperor Scorpion and a flat rock scorpion, both of those dont bother using their sting.
So it was awesome to see this Desert hairy stinging the cricket
