are terracotta dishes alright as water bowls? new one, not used for plants

i used unglazed one for a while and it went very slimey within a day. so my experience not very good

i was going to say the same about glazed/unglazed,unglazed would be very absorbant.I use the glazed dishes for rabbits ect,there pretty cheap too
