Henry was left without food for up to 2 months under the care of her old owners. She is quite skinny and i last fed her on friday. I intend to feed her again tomorrow. will she be able to cope with alot more food then she has been having? |

Also, it depends on the reasons for no food. My male has gone for 7 weeks now without eating, but that's because he's been around females. (hmm, Sex or food????) If he has just been neglected, i personnally would start with 1 or 2 pinks a week, working up to whatever food size is necessary. As saddleninja said,

The reason she wasnt fed was because her owners were careless and would just forget. there was no other reason. shes 13, 4ft and shes been fed 2 adult mice per feed. is this OK?
edit - I fed her last friday |

That's appalling. Unfortunatetly not suprising these days, however. |

I'd also recommend having the mice wet when feeding because it basically helps to lubricate the mouse on the way down. I'd say that 2 adult mice per week is about right for a snake that size, but like Saddleninja said, work from less gradually up to normal food. My male used to eat rat pups as well, which are a bit bigger than large mice, but since not eating for the past few weeks, he's back on mediums and that'll work up gradually to larges again. |
