well saying that my corn snake whos not even an adult yet narf can have a tight grip when hes round my neck, not enough to choke me but very tight, when i fed him last week his coils caughy my finger and he ended up constricting my hand aswell as the mouse, and when he finished eating the mouse he looked at my thumb and then tried to swallow tht lol after ten minutes he finally clicked that the fingers on my hand are not mice lol |

Okay Heatseeker, Here's Trilby - She's a couple of inches over six foot :
I'm posting these also to show GP Tribly's colours as well, I was saying at the last York Rep Night about how she looks metallic when she catches the light... and also the black band/stripe that goes down the back on either side of the saddles
Here she is:

I've found my camera cable and taken a few pic's:
This is Henry(ietta). Shes about 4'1", 700g and 13 years old
The trainer is a size 9.
I think its fair to say this is the minimum size people can expect their corns to grow to. |

Also, 5 points to who ever can spot the imperfection on her body. And its not the joined saddles or head markings |

Lewy - just from the head markings on that last pic i'd say she was a corn cross, nothing like the typical maarkings of a corn. i bet Oscar would luuurve her - if he was given half a chance! |

We think she's a cross with an Everglades Rat - Pauline had a rat very similar at the last rep night. the same silver markings and striping. |

does any one know at what age corn snakes stop growing aswell? i was having an argument with someone the other night as he said its better to feed your corn snake once a fortnight, but i said well it wont get as big as their maximum size mainly depens on how often they was fed when they were a growing juvenile. a snake that was fed once a week will grow alot bigger and at a faster rate that a corn snake that was mainly fed once a fortnight. anyone knows the age of corns when they stop growing? |

Heatseaker, If I remember right shes 4-5 years, still got a lot of growing to do We feed Trilby every 10days... last thing we want is a fat snake... over feeding only causes problems. Your snake will grow how it should if you don't over feed. Over feed and all you end up with is shortened life span and a fat snake. Some snakes are just bigger than others, the way I see is do what is best for the snake, a healthy consistent diet for the snake in question at it's time of life. If we we're to try and breed her we would increase the food to once a week, but that's the only time I would overfeed a snake.
Corn's are prone to obesity, so just be careful |

i always assumed a corn snake is fully grown once they are 4 to 5 years old? and wont grow much more? what a discovery lol yeah i been feeding my 2 year old 3 and a half feet corn once a week on mice that are labelled "large" but only appear medium sized, i planned to lengthen the gap between feeds once he reaches 4 feet as i read that somewhere on a caresheet.

Corns will grow all their lives they just slow down as they get 4-5 and shed less regular. Don't get be wrong they won't grow loads... the growth slows the older they get but they still grow a little.

that's right for adult male corns, providing the prey item offered is an appropriate size. it's far too easy to overfeed them. |
